I am searching for information on what a friends fathers journey might have been after the war. In 1947-8 he was in Lincolnshire, but is believed to have emigrated to South Africa in 1948. She does not have a name, just this story. Her Polish origins have been confirmed through dna, and her cousin remembers meeting him in uniform. Assuming he was probably based in Lincolnshire on arrival in the UK, and flew out of Lincolnshire, would he have been likely to have stayed on an RAF base after the war, or a Resettlement Camp? Also, are there any lists anywhere of Polish airmen who went out to South Africa? While she does not have a name, she has some close dna matches, so will be accumulating possible family names. Thank you. Jenny

Hi Jenny, I am not sure if this will be of help but there is a listing of Polish Air Force personnel. This lists all personnel 1940 to 1947 giving trades and details of birth and death including places. It can be found on: listakrzystka.pl/en/

Thank you. Yes, I do know of this, and it does list a few who went to South Africa. It will be a long search, I think. Thank you again for replying.
