Hi Sigrid, I have checked on ancestry co. uk and there are two deaths listed 1. Anna Bednarczyk born15th March 1890 died June 1972 aged 82. address at time of death Leicestershire. 2. Anna Bednarczyk born about 1891 died June 1966 aged 75. address at time of death Chesterfield Derbyshire. Maybe one of the above is your grandmother. To find out more information about her you will need to know where she was born. Were any of the other passengers on the Carnarvon Castle with the name listed as Bednarz related to you? See attached link. search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?gl=BMD_DEATH&rank=1&new=1&so=3&MSAV=0&msT=1&gss=ms_f-125&gsfn=anna&gsln=bednarcz&sbo=0&uidh=a62Best Wishes, Arnes

Hi Arnes, Great!!! Thank you! I don't know where she was born, she was leaving in Resczpol (Poland) with here family and deported in the former USSR in 1940. Her maiden name was iwasieczko and it is possible that there where other relatives. I listen that I should have a cousin in the States. Thanks again, Sigrid

Hi Sigrid, All of the available information is on the link, however you could send for a death certificate copy which gives when and where she died plus other details. The certificates can be obtained from the following link. Think the cost is £9.25p per certificate www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.aspYour grandmothers maiden name is quite unusual and I have never seen it written before, maybe it is of Ukraine origin ?? Good luck with your continuing search for ancestors Best Wishes Arnes

I am interested in any information on Daglingworth. My family lived there 1947 till approx 1960 ish. Father: Stefan Ziemba, Mother: Jozefa. Sisters: Dorotka and Basia. Looking at some photo's about the camp I find that we are on most of them and I would like to hear from anyone who lived at Daglingworth at the same time
Anna Hubbard nee Ziemba
