Would just like to congratulate you on your work on this site. Both my parents were brought up here and although I do have stories of happy memories and have visited the camp on numerous occasions, with the camp slowly decaying away it can be hard for us mlodzesz to imagine what it was really like, so it is really nice to be able to have the opportunity. Thank you

I have been looking for Daglingworth camp. Never knew the real name for the place. We used to live there before moving to Swindon in 1961, I was 5 years old then.

Great site! I used to live on a houseboat in Southampton (1974-79)that was a Polish Torpedo Boat in WW2 (Polish No. was S-8/Royal Navy MTB427)...I am trying to write the history of the boat and have published some articles in various magazines and was 'trawling' the internet for Polish site and came across yours! A great record and very interesting!I have just come back from my first visit to Poland (Gdansk/Masorian Lakes...wonderful time!Regards::tim@deacon427.fsnet.co.uk

My sister helka told me about this site. Excellent - brought back so many memories of life there as a child. Seeing your father on the photo brought back even more memories. He taught me how to play the piano and sent me to the Royal College of Music for my exams. I have loads of photos from Northwick - I feel like taking the suitcase down and going through all the black and white pics all over again. Father Rytko I remember really well - and Mr Rymaszewski the Camp's photographer - Wow! Zosia Brilliant, brilliant - if you need photos, let my sister Hela know and I will gladly contribute photos of us playing the piano on stage, in the chapel etc.

The Gloucestershire Heritage Council have::little historical evidence about the people who lived in the camps. I'm trying to collect photos and other evidence that I can find.to establish the area as a part of English Heritage.::::in the camps. Site excellent.I also mirror your story . Our camp was called Tweedsmuir near Thursley in Surrey. The Pols were given the accommodation after the Canadian Army left in 1946. Your site came to me via the brothers Rogalski with whom I have recently made contact after 45 years and who were friends of mine in the Camp.We are looking to complete a similar history. However your site will be difficult to beat. Take care PPP
