A very interesting site, perhaps a little different for me than for the Polish relatives. My Grandfather was John Quine Evans, who worked at the camp when it was set up. I have photographs from that time so it was nice to see someone else's memories of the place, but a little sad to see it how it is today.

Very interesting, providing an insight into my grandfathers life after WWII at the Polish camp at Hardwick

Zosiu, I have just been on the web site again to see all the updated items. Even though it does not deal with Springhill (my camp) it brought me to tears again. The information, the photos and the way you have put all this together is fantastic. I am sure so many people reading it will both cry and laugh at all the memories. Well done!! Excellent. What more can I say. Some information on another camp. My second I think in England and where I went to my first english school - Bridgewater. The camp name was Mitlezoy in Somerset. To know more, its worth reading Clare Francis' book "Homeland" about a polish man living and working in the area and all the difficulties he encountered. V.good book well worth reading.
