??? ??? Can anyone help? I am trying to find out what happened to a Flight Lieutenant Jan Adam Smigielski, born on 13.3.1917 to Antoni and Maria nee Leszcynska at Gelsenkirchen, Germany, nationality Polish. He served with the Polish Forces under British Command and Military service in Poland from 4.11.37, no 37, No.142, he came to RAF Kirkham, in Blackpool Lancashire in 1940, he served in No.306 Polish fighter squadron, and 315 Polish fighter squadron, I am writing on behalf of myself his niece and his daughter, we can only trace his records until 8.1.1947 and want to know what happened to him after that date, we don't know if he stayed in England or moved abroad or if he had siblings or any surviving family, if any one can put me in the right direction I would be very grateful. :) Have reason to believe he may have moved to London and married, he has a son and daughter but unfortunately do not know their names, the daughter is still in London and the son moved to France, again if any one can help if would be much appreciated.

I'm a member of a Polish Airforce Forum and we are able to provide you with information on Jan Adam Smigielski groups.yahoo.com/group/300PolishSquadron/The website was initially created by children of former members of the Polish 300 Bomber Squadron based in the UK during World War 2. Now, however, it covers all Polish Squadrons and you do not have to be a descendant to join this group. We post photos, stories, documents and links related to the Polish Air Force and our relatives' experiences. We invite you to do so as well. I hope you find this article of use www.ingridpitt.net/battle-of-britain/polish-fighter-pilots.html
