Hi
My mother was born in Diddington Park after my Grandmother arrived from Italy. I know where Diddington Park is, but just wondered whether anyone knows whether anything still exists of the polish camp?
Many thanks
Paula

Hi Paula, I was born in Diddington in 1947 and did some research and found out that I was delivered by a midwife from Italy by the name of Maria Karczmitowicz ( Nee ) There was a Reunion in 2011 and all the names of all 1073 babies were listed. Nothing exists now of the camp, just memories for those who lived and were born. Kind regards, Sylwester Maciej from Somerset

Oh wow! this is such a coincidence! I have been researching Maria Karczmitowicz over these last few days for someone in Poland who is looking after her grave. Only distant relatives left, who don't know anything about her. please contact me: Elzunia Gradosielska Olsson: elzuniaols@gmail.com

My name is Josephine Danuta Ciesla, I was born at Diddington in 1947 also after the arrival of my parent from Forli, Italy.
We were resettled at Fowlmere, site 2.
Would love to hear from you, maybe we grew up together. By the way my neighbor at the camp who lives in English, Henry Sterecki has opened a museum dedicated to the resettlement families. He has also put together a book on Fowlmere, he quite the historian.
