Hi,
Can anyone help me? My grandmother worked for an organization (possibly American-ran and likely Catholic-church ran). I'm looking for the name of this organization and who ran it.
- This organization set up temporary camps for Polish soldiers.
- Their last camp was somewhere in the UK, possibly near Surrey and Berkshire. I know, I know.. my grandmother's memories are a bit blurry but she's 90 so maybe someone can help on this?
- She first joined this organization in 1945 in Italy where they had camps in Cortina D'Ampezo, San Sepulcro, San Remo and Ancona
- They basically fed soldiers and prepared NATO sponsored kits.
- Their last camp would have closed in the UK some time in 1949.
- I know one of those English camps was visited by General Anders but I don't have the year.
Any help or suggestion will be very much appreciated!!!
