Does anyone have any relatives that served in Scotland with the Polish Forces under British Command 1944-46 and subsequently Service with the Polish Resettlement Corps 1946-48 - Forfar and /or Inverary
I have a few photo's of my father John (Jan) Kathke, with other Polish soldiers serving, during these times. My father was originally based in Bydgoszcz prior to 1939. He took part in the 1939 September campaign in Warsaw.

After posting my first forum letter I realised I did not know the name of the camp where my father Jan Kathke was based in Scotland.
Does anyone know the names of any of the Scottish camps especially the one where the signals division was based ??
Thank you - Arnes

Thank You Zosia,
After finding your site ( very good !! ), I came across the above link regarding information on Polish resettlement. It has been nearly 5 years since I first wrote to Robert Ostrycharz, he started me off on my genealogy research. When I look back at those early days I knew nothing about my fathers early life in Poland or his resettlement in the United Kingdom. My questions were endless and Robert always helped me out.
Over the last few years I have been researching at my local LDS family history centre and archdiocese and civil records in Poland. Now I have decided to look more into my fathers resettlement in this country. Roberts sites have even more information and updates and I am going to write to him soon giving an update on my progress
Best Regards, Arnes

My father was in Kinross. I believe that was to train radio operators and communications.

Hello Maureen,
Amazing to get a new post after more than 10 years.
If you wanted to see the two photos I have, (just on the off chance your father may be on one of them) I can send them to you if you let me have your e mail address.
My e mail is roy_attenborough_4040@yahoo.co.uk
Best wishes,
Arnes
