I moved to Hazlemere when I was 2 in 1950 and lived there until our family was rehoused in 1955. I have vivid memories of my childhood at the camp which to young boys was a marvellous adventure playground. I would love to be able to get in contact with some of the families that I knew there such as Paszkiewicz, Inglot, Gąska, Sidor, Komuniewski, and any information or photographs that anyone can give me about the camp would be most appreciated.

Hi Kaczmar, I actually had nothing to do with Hazelmere Park, but my mother new the Inglot family in the 1940-ies. I believe that they now live in the Slough area.

Hi yes my pareants were in the Hazlemere camp, my name is Kownacki and I did have a brother called George (Jurek)who died in a house fire in the USA, I still have three sisters in the States, and although my father died in 1994, my mother is still alive at 90 years of age, and if I have a dig I might be able to find some photos of some of the families mentioned by Ewahenderson at the camp.

My father - Franciszek Mnich - now 93 years old, was at the Hazelmere camp, he thinks for about 2 years from 1946.
On his behalf I'd be very interested to find out if anyone remembers him. He has many recollections of the challenges and experiences he faced as a newcomer to this country, but nobody with similar memories to share them with.
If you knew my father and would like to get in touch, please do so initially through this facility.
Thank you.

It's an outside chance we think he left Hazelmere Park for Hertford sometime between 1946 and 1948 but it's with asking just in case. Thanks

My father - Franciszek Mnich - now 97 years old and although in reasonably good health is becoming increasingly frail. Naturally we feel time is running out to find out about his wartime history and wondered if anyone out there could enlighten us.
He was at the Hazelmere camp, he thinks for about 2 years from 1946.
On his behalf I'd be very interested to find out if anyone remembers him. He has many recollections of the challenges and experiences he faced as a newcomer to this country, but nobody with similar memories to share them with.

I guess you are the Kaczmar I was at school with in High Wycombe. I visited the camp after our neighbour in Holmer Green, Polly Hawes, married Antoni Saganoski. I can still remember the rows of huts quite vividly. The Sagonoskis later moved to the new council estate in Princes Risborough, where we ended up, but they moved on again soon after.
