Diddington Village Hall will be holding an exhibition on Saturday 25th June 2011. The exhibition will include photographs of the polish resettlement camp after WW11. This will include the Modern Secondary School and Catholic church together with the Maternity Hospital which was set up for the refugees after the war, with 1073 babies born on the site. Our doors will open at 1pm and close at 5pm. We would love to welcome back all of those who had a connection with our village and also those who would like to visit. Our village fete also on that day commences at 2pm.

Hello. I just became a member today and I see I've missed an event I would have been very interested in attending by eleven years. You see, I am one of those 1073 babies born at the Diddington Camp maternity hospital. If you could provide me with direction as to where I might find more information about the camp and hospital, I would be tremendously grateful. Cheers.

I am a Diddington baby born at the maternity hospital in 1947. Would love to make contact with others from the resettlement camp at Fowlmere and vicinity. In 2018 I visited the Fowlmere Primary School, www.Fowlmere.carbs.sch.ukEmail: office@fowlmere.carbs.sch.uk Was able to photograph my and my siblings registration information. Also there is a photograph of Ms. Debska on view in the office. (Debska pronounced Dembska) Henry Sterecki, my neighbor at Fowlmere resettlement camp has opened a museum dedicated to resettlement individuals from the area He has also put together a book, it brings back a flood of memories. My contact info.: jocvmc@yahoo.com
