Does anyone know if/when the new Wajda film about Katyn will be released in the UK? I've had a tantalizing look at the trailer on 'you tube', and it looks excellent. I have a particular interest in the subject, as I wrote a play entitled 'Katyn Witness', which ran in London in 1995. I've also heard on the grapevine that a British film on the subject is in pre-production.

Only just found this site. I was lucky enough to catch this film when visiting Krakow in October. An incredibly emotional experience for me, as my grandfather was almost certainly a victim of this awful crime against humanity. A harrowing, deeply moving and brilliant film. What was very uplifting was seeing this film in the centre of Krakow, when so much of it is filmed in Krakow, or uses scenes of Krakow as a backdrop, and then walking out into the fresh air at the end of the film to the centre of a vibrant, modern, peacefull but above all FREE city. To answer your question, I don't know when it will be released in the UK, but I understand it has been shown in the USA, so hopefully it will soon be released here, if only in the "arthouse" cinemas.

I just bought the DVD from PolandByMail dot com Although it was in English subtitles (can read some and understand most) I enjoyed the movie very much. Try ordering it from there.
