My uncle came to this country after World War Two from Italy. He was Polish and originated from Eastern Poland; now in the Ukraine. He was forced to join the Red Army. Later in the war he joined the Second Polish Corps. They were in the Middle East before going to Italy in 1944. He said he came to this country the end of 1947, beginning of 1948. He was at Hounslow West before coming to a camp at Seething (258), near Bungay, Suffolk. Seething is in Norfolk and was a former American Bomber base. There is very little recorded information on this camp. For my uncle it was a resettlement camp before obtaining local employment. Does anybody know any further information as it’s not listed as a camp with this website?
