I'm one of the lucky ones that I have documented my father in laws history from 1939/40 when he was shipped off to a forced labour camp, first to Dresden and then Braunau in Austria until he was liberated at then end of WW2.
Obviously there have been a lot of gaps but I've filled in most before he passed away some years ago and we have since traced my wife's relatives in Poland which is really great for my children.
The only missing link I have is Jan was in a Displaced Persons camp in or near Beconsfield after leaving Italy in about 1947/48 and after finding this website wondered if anyone knew anything about it's existence and history and if there are any records anywhere?
Just a long shot, thanks for taking the time to read this.
Kind Regards
Paul Rogers

Hi rogersp! There were several camps nr Beaconsfield,Bucks. The biggest one was Hodgemoor nr Amersham. There was also Great Bowerwood, but that was nearer Slough,I think. There is quite a lot of info on Hodgemoor on this site. Have a dig! Good luck! Bogusia
