With the end of WW2 around 125.000 Polish Forces chose to stay in the UK. To accomodate so many The Polish Resettelement Corps was raised and the men were housed in vacated army and air force camps. There were over 200 such camps scattered throughout the UK. most were short lived and by 1948 were closed. The only Information I have about Honiton camp is that it was occupied by the Polish 6th Brigade Supply Company "6 Komp. Zaop. Bryg".
Family members can obtain individual's service records by contacting: Mrs Barbara Kroll or Margaret Goddard at; MOD, Polish Records Section, RAF Northolt, West End Rd., Ruislip, Middlesex HA4 6NG, UK. Telephone: 0044(0)208 833 8603. Email: polishdisoff@northolt.raf.mod.uk.
Information is provided free to wives but there is a charge for other family members. Hope this will help, Zosia
